Director and Senior Wealth Advisor at Mariner joins PCFNJ to strengthen community partnerships and enhance support for children and families battling cancer.
November 6, 2025; Morristown, NJ – The Pediatric Cancer Foundation of New Jersey (PCFNJ) is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Coppa to its Governing Board. A wealth advisor and community leader, Mr. Coppa brings over two decades of experience in wealth management and economic strategy, combined with a long-standing commitment to service and philanthropy throughout New Jersey.
Mr. Coppa currently serves as Director and Senior Wealth Advisor at Mariner, where he works closely with families, business owners, and institutions to help them pursue their financial goals with integrity, transparency, and compassion. His goal is to help clients understand the complex financial ecosystems. His experience guiding families through significant life decisions is a quality that closely aligns with PCFNJ’s values of care, empathy, and holistic healing.
Bringing Heart and Leadership to Pediatric Cancer Care
Founded by Dr. James C. Wittig, MD, an internationally recognized Orthopedic Oncologist and surgeon, PCFNJ is dedicated to supporting children diagnosed with cancer and their families by addressing the many hardships that arise following a diagnosis. The Foundation provides emotional, financial, and practical assistance through wellness, mental health, creative arts, and community programs. It also funds research and education to advance pediatric oncology.
Mr. Coppa’s decision to join the Board stems from his passion for giving back and his admiration for PCFNJ’s patient-centered approach.

Expanding Programs and Partnerships Across New Jersey
PCFNJ is developing a wide array of programs to help children and their families find strength and comfort throughout their cancer journey. These include:
- Wellness and mental health programs that bring meditation, relaxation, therapy, yoga, and mindfulness into hospitals and homes.
- Creative arts programs through Positively Creative, offering children joyful experiences like music, crafts, birthday celebrations, and visits from comfort animals.
- Educational and research grants that support medical students, residents, and fellows exploring new approaches in pediatric oncology and holistic healing.

ABOUT THE PEDIATRIC CANCER FOUNDATION OF NEW JERSEY
We are here for children afflicted with cancers, and their families, by helping to offset the extreme expenses, address special social needs, and conquer hardships that arise when a child is diagnosed with cancer.
